How to Create a Productive Space: Tips for Color, Flow State, and More
Make your space work for you
My “Productivity” Workspace and Room
Creating a productive space is essential for anyone looking to get things done. Whether you’re a freelancer, an entrepreneur, a blogger or just someone who wants to be more organized, having a designated area where you can work efficiently is key. In this article, we’ll discuss some tips on how to create a productive space that works for you. We’ll cover everything from the colors you should use, the type of music you should listen to, and how to set up your desk for optimal flow state.
Tips for using the right colors
When it comes to setting up a productive environment, one of the most crucial things to consider is the color of your walls and artificial lighting (for example, Philipps hue). Different colors have been shown to affect our moods and productivity in different ways. For instance, blue is known to be calming and can help promote focus, while green is thought to increase growth and harmony. Yellow is known to boost happiness and energy levels, making it ideal for spaces where you want to feel motivated.

What about white?
While some people find that white walls help them feel more focused and organized, others find that it’s too stark and sterile. If you’re someone who prefers a more colorful environment, consider painting your walls a light blue or green. You can also add splashes of color with artwork, plants, or other accessories.
Tips for the Right Music
In addition to color, the type of music you listen to can also have an impact on how productive you are. While some people prefer complete silence when they’re working, others find that background noise helps them focus. If you fall into the latter camp, there are a few different types of music that have been shown to boost productivity. Classical music, for instance, has been shown to improve focus and concentration, while upbeat music can help you stay motivated and energized. If you’re not sure what type of music will work best for you, it’s worth experimenting with different genres and tempos until you find something that helps you get into a flow state.

What I also recommend are binaural beats. Binaural beats are caused by different sound frequencies being played into each ear. When these two tones mix, they create a third tone that is said to help the brain enter a flow state. Flow state is often described as a “state of optimal experience” where you’re fully immersed in what you’re doing and operating at your peak performance. If you’re looking to get into a flow state more quickly, it’s worth giving binaural beats a try.
Just search for Focus Binaural Beats on youtube and you will find many great options to try out.
Tips for your Desk Set-Up
In addition to the colors and music you choose, the way you set up your desk can also impact your productivity. For instance, if you’re someone who tends to get easily distracted, it might be helpful to set up your desk so that it faces a wall. This will help you avoid getting sidetracked by what’s going on around you. Additionally, if you find yourself getting antsy when sitting in one place for too long, it might be helpful to invest in a standing desk. This way, you can alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day, which can help improve your energy levels and focus.

No matter what your specific needs are, there are a few general tips that can help you create a productive space. By considering the colors, music, and furniture you use, you can set yourself up for success and make sure that your space is working for you, not against you.
